Pazhassi Raja Movie Review


The much expected Pazhassi Raja which released first in Malayalam and now has hit the theatres in Tamil has catered to the satisfaction of the audience. Pazhassi Raja also has to its credit being the first Malayalam movie to relase in four languages – Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi with a high budget of Rs. 27 crores.Pazhassi Raja is a multilingual biopic on Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja, the 18th century Keralite royal who raised the banner of revolt against British rule and waged a guerrilla war against the occupants for years. The film stars Mammooty, Sarath Kumar, Manoj K Jayan, Suman, Kanika and Padmapriya in lead roles. The film has been directed by T Hariharan and music is by the legend Ilayaraja. Hariharan has shot the film in the dense forests of Madekeri in Coorg and in Andhra Pradesh.The camera work by Venu and Ramanath Shetty give the film a sleek look. The forgotten story of Pazhassi Raja, comes alive through the brilliant writing of MT, the majestic acting of Mammotty and direction of Hariharan. The film has recieved an excellent response upon its release.Producer G. Dhananjayan of Moser Baer Entertainment has made an official confirmation over the acquisition of Home Video rights (DVD, VCD, Blu-Ray and other formats) of Pazzhasi Raja.
