Rajini changed me: Chakravarthy

“Initially I believed that commercial cinema was not my cup of tea. But I had to overhaul my views after I met Superstar Rajinikanth,” says popular Telugu actor J D Chakravarthy, who has played the baddie in Jeeva’s ‘Kacheri Aarambam’ that hit theatres Friday.
“Rajini made me realise that a commercial movie is equally challenging to conceive and make. Now I have great respect for this genre too and this is the reason behind acting in Kacheri Aarambam,” he says.
Chakri to his fans in Tollywood, the actor is eagerly awaiting the feedback for ‘Kacheri Aarambam’. “My earlier Tamil movies including ‘Kannathil Muthamittal’ and ‘Sarvam’ showcased me differently. But Kacheri… was a unique experience. I felt great doing the film.”
Revealing a secret, Chakravarthy says, “Coming the RGV school, I have developed a passion for a different kind of cinema. So when director Thiraivannan approached me for Kacheri... I did hesitate a little. But in a couple of days, I was taken in by the script and the energy of the filmmaker.”
